The Jennings-Brown home was also a headquarters for Union Army Major General Frank P. Blair during the civil war. Later the home was restored to reflect life in Bennettsville in the mid-1850s.
Another museum that details Bennettsville’s story is the Bennettsville Female Academy. The Bennettsville Female Academy was a private school for girls between 1833-1881. Many enjoy visiting this museum because it offers a rare look into mid-19th century school house furnishings. Another attraction in the museum complex is the Medical Museum.
