The Jennings-Brown home was also a headquarters for Union Army Major General Frank P. Blair during the civil war. Later the home was restored to reflect life in Bennettsville in the mid-1850s. 

Another museum that details Bennettsville’s story is the Bennettsville Female Academy. The Bennettsville Female Academy was a private school for girls between 1833-1881. Many enjoy visiting this museum because it offers a rare look into mid-19th century school house furnishings. Another attraction in the museum complex is the Medical Museum. This is a particularly interesting museum for medical professionals. 

Here you will walk through the former medical office of Dr. F. Kinney. The museum allows guests an inside look at old examination rooms, medical instruments, and portraits of Marlboro’s leading physicians.
